Resolved Question: 1995 eclipse gs rpm problem?
OK i own a 1995 Mitsubishi eclipse GS non turbo 4 cylinder DOHC manual 5 speed When I'm driving and I push the gas and shift the rpm stay up a considerably longer time then normal, it takes awhile for them to come down which as you know is hard to shift when you are trying to listen for the right time but the rpm are still high from last time. What could be causing this?

Voting Question: What would you pay for this 1995 mitsubishi eclipse?
It has a full body kit 17" rims with new tires and custom paint but its chipping a little bit on the side skirts. It has racing seats in it that were 400 dollars each brand new but now they definetly look warn and one is broken so the back wont stay up. the moon roof and drivers side door both need new motors and there is no cd deck. its wired for an amp and subs. It has a short clutch i believe its called and aftermarket intake. It has 185,000 miles on it and needs a oil cap and a head gasket i believe..? im not sure exactly if thats it but i was told its only a 15-20 dollar part. the previous owner paid 3600 for it a year and a half ago.

When the car is cold. I don't drive it very often. When I first give it gas and let the clutch out it frog hops and makes a loud clunking noise the first time. I had Mitsubishi dealer look at it and they said it had a broken motor mount. Also when it has not been driven for awhile and I start it up in colder weather it makes a loud clattering noise which goes away when I put in the clutch and returns when I let it back out. This to only lasts for a brief period until it is warmed up. My question is should I put in a new clutch and hope this solves the problem or could it be something more serious. Any input appreciated Greg 2 days ago - 2 days left to answer. Additional Details I am concerned about the frog hopping and thunking noise on original take off. I is like it is slipping and is getting progressively worse. Resolved Question: Why is the transmission in my 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse automatic slipping?
I have a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS 2.0 non-turbo automatic front wheel drive. It has plenty of transmission fluid in it and it looks fine. When trying to drive it on the road/flat ground it slips & revs out, then will grab hard, and then slip all over again. If I drive it up my driveway, or around my yard (both uphill) it drives fine. Reverse works fine either way. What could be wrong? Is the transmission completely junk or could there be something dumb wrong with it that can be fixed?
