Ford Model A Roadster
Ford Model A cars are classic and remain popular for car collectors. Among the selection is the 1929 Ford Model A Roadster. It was equipped with a battery-and-coil ignition, nickel-plated headlamps, 4-wheel mechanical brakes, and double action shock absorbers. It was powered by an inline L-head 4-cylinder 200.5 cid engine with 40 horsepower. Ralph Malph’s yellow hot rod from Happy Days was a modded car of this model.

Resolved Question: Will a model a roadster fit a pick up frame?
I have an origional 28 ford pick up that needs a lot of body work.I'm considering swapping out this pick up body for a roadster body.I would like to get an idea as to how much trouble it would be in regard to wheel base, firewall clearance, axles and such.Haven't tried to start the 4 banger yet and still undecided about drive train.I do have an old flathead ford v-8 that would be very sweet in the roadster-OR the pick up body.Thanx for any input and suggestions.

Resolved Question: What is record for driving coast to coast?
Does anyone know where I can find if there is a record for driving coast to coast or any other point to point driving records?
What are the record times today?
What gave me this idea was reading about Erwin George "Cannon Ball" Baker.
Baker set 143 driving records from the 1910s through the 1930s. His first was set in 1914, riding coast to coast on an Indian motorcycle in 11 days. He normally rode to sponsor manufacturers, guaranteeing them "no record, no money".
In 1915, Baker drove from Los Angeles to New York City in 11 days, 7 hours and fifteen minutes in a Stutz Bearcat, and the following year drove a Cadillac 8 roadster from Los Angeles to Times Square in seven days, eleven hours and fifty-two minutes while accompanied by an Indianapolis newspaper reporter. In 1926 he drove a loaded two-ton truck from New York to San Francisco in a record five days, seventeen hours and thirty minutes, and in 1928, he beat the 20th Century Limited train from New York to Chicago. Also in 1928, he competed in the Mount Washington Hillclimb Auto Race, and set a record time of 14:49.6 seconds, driving a Franklin.[2]
His best-remembered drive was a 1933 New York City to Los Angeles trek in a Graham-Paige model 57 Blue Streak 8, setting a 53.5 hour record that stood for nearly 40 years. This drive inspired the later Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, better known as the "Cannonball Run", which itself inspired at least five movies and a television series. In 1941, he drove a new Crosley Covered Wagon across the nation in a troublefree 6,517-mile (10,488 km) run to prove the economy and reliability characteristics of Crosley automobiles. Other record and near-record transcontinental trips were made in Model T Fords, Chrysler Imperials, Marmons, Falcon-Knights and Columbia Tigers, among others.

Resolved Question: What is a 1930 Model A Ford Roadster With Rumble Seat Worth?
It is in amazing shape, runs great with an authentic rebuilt ford engine, with a great paint job, all the accessories, and comes with a spare working motor and working transmission. Was thinking of selling, how much is it worth?
Resolved Question: Which are the 10 most significant cars of all time?
Mine would be (in no particular order)
Ford Model T - put the world on wheels.
Volkswagen Beetle (the original, of course) - The best selling, single generation model in automotive history.
Chevrolet Corvette - The ultimate American sports car. Still in the market after 53 years. Currently on par with the best exotics for a fraction of the price.
Porsche 911 - The perennial best sports car.
Mazda Miata - Singlehandedly revived the roadster. Without the Miata, there would be no BMW Z3 or Z4, no Audi TT cabrio, no Porsche Boxster, no Mercedes-Benz SLK, et al.
Willys-Overland Jeep - The forefather of all SUVs. Plus, it saved the world from tyranny.
Mini Cooper (again, the original, of course) - Transversely mounted FWD engine configuration forever changed automotive industry.
1953 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL - The first exotic car.
1964 Pontiac GTO - Unleashed the muscle car era, forever defining the sixities.
Mazda Cosmo - First mass produced rotary engined car.
