Open Question: I have a question about a 1970 chevelle?
I am going to be restoring a 1970 chevelle soon, it might not start with a 454 in it but it will have one. I'm planning on putting a six speed in it, but my dad was talking about how back then, only the m22 could take the power of the motor. He was afraid the six speed could't take the motor like all other transmissions back then. My question to you is, is there a six speed that will work on a 1970 chevelle ls6, Is there maybe a five speed I could use, or do I need to or should I stick with the m22 4 speed?
Relating to what the car guy said, I have never driven a car period. I'm fourteen but plan on starting a restoration soon so when I'm in my twenties, I can drive it. This is not going to be my first car.
Open Question: What would happen if you drove a car with a cracked frame?
I was thinking of buying a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Nomad for 0. It has a cracked frame, rust on the fenders and rear quarter panels, needs like 2 or 3 things to start the original motor, and a slight clean-up in the interior. What would happen if I drove with the cracked frame? And if anything, how much would it cost to weld it together again? Also, how do you get rid of rust?
This would be in the state of New Jersey, by the way. And the rust is beneath the paint. Like the paint chipped off and then rust formed with time.

Resolved Question: Why dont they make modern cars look like 1970 Chevelle SS's? think about how many people would buy them?
I mean the exact exterior of the 1970 chevelle, and other cars like 69' Mustangs.. but make them modern, like more reliable and different engine, different interior, better steering. The "cameros" and cars they are making now look so different.

m 18 and i wanted to know which would be a better first car i need a car that i can put alot of miles on because i will be driving from my home base to another state a few times a month to see my daughter .And the chevelle im planing to get has a new small block motor and is worth a few less grand then the impala
