MINI Cooper S
Sporty lil coupes that took the car scene by storm. The MINI Coopers are very popular here in Los Angeles and surrounding California cities. I see them at no less than 5 a day.

Open Question: What's the difference between HID bulbs and HID conversion kits?
I notice that the conversion kits are more expensive but really not knowing the BIG difference between the two. And I am planning to get some HID's for my Mini Cooper.
Voting Question: Which car is best? Or do you suggest?
In the next week, i'll be buying a car but I can't decide on which is better, the mini cooper (not the s), honda civic, or mazda 3? Or do you have any other suggestions on what kind of car would be best? I want a car that is fuel efficient, safe, reliable, doesn't require a lot of maintenance, etc.
I've always wanted a mini but just found out that it uses premium gas only and heard that the maintenance is quite expensive.
Resolved Question: The insurance company spent the worth of my car on repairs after an accident, should it have been totaled?
I have an 06 Mini Cooper S that was t-boned. Going by kbb, they've spent just less than about 00 than the value of my car on repairs and I now have to go back to the body shop for additional repairs. Does it matter if the cost of the repairs to my car exceed the value of the car itself? I understand that, had they known the repairs would exceed that cost, they likely would've totaled it - but at this point if they've covered all costs of the repairs and they do indeed exceed the value of my car does that mean anything but that the insurance company was idiotic?
Oh.. the only reason I say they're idiots is because 1) Every mechanic / body shop personnel who saw it was SHOCKED that they thought it'd be a good idea to repair it. and 2) Here's the big one -- my car was t-boned. The adjuster's original estimate was made before anyone even took apart the car or took off the door to see how extensive any interior damage. So after ordering the first set of parts and getting the initial estimate - which he told me he felt covered all repairs, he then gave the body shop permission to take off the door to go from there. Then they found pretty much double the repair and found further repairs even after that. In my opinion there weren't really any "hidden" repair issues - the adjuster just didn't feel it necessary to take off a door that had been hit. My total repair is about 0 less than the cost of my car - and what's funny is it took the insurance company so long to assist with repairs they also spent 00 on my rental car in the interim.
I guess I just wanted to see if that in particular would lower the value of my car any more so than an accident would.
I know it's not my decision to total it. I didn't think it'd be totaled because the engine wasn't damaged - although being that I drive a Mini it was pretty much the entire side of the car that needed repair.
