Open Question: VW Golf mk6 1.4 tsi 160hp vs Mini cooper s r56?
hi everyone please help me i'm confused between a USED mini cooper s r56 or a NEW golf mk6 1.4tsi 160hp
i want to know which one is reliable? for me 23 years old guy

Open Question: First car?!?! TEN POINTS?
Hey, I'm looking to buy a first car.
My current option is a Mini cooper S I've got that money, but it's just too pricy.
I'm looking to aim for a coupe convertible, definatly no 4x4.
I'd like a fancy one too, please note; they do not HAVE to be a convertible, but a coupe.
and i don't kknow how to explain, but when i test drove the mini, it seemed to drive ahead into empty spaces fast.. if you know what i mean? I drive my mums Pajero, and when you press the acceleration down it tkes a while to speed up? That's not what i want.
Of course, i have permission from my parents for a speedy car, They also trust me not to be stupid and go off racing with them :P
Price range; 10,000-20,000
Nothing more than 20k, I'd still like some money left after my purchase :L
Maybe just abit over 20,000 nothing major.
So bottom line
*Coupe
*Convertible
*Fancy
*Speedy
*Safe
* Most importantly, reliable.

Voting Question: Travel back in time to 1970.?
take with you a 2010 model mini cooper s,an i phone,expensive mac laptop. if you sold these to a government of the period would they be able to advance the pace of technologhy to 2010 levels or would the apparatus available and knowledge be unable to reproduce such items in 1970? could you in theory change the world?? and the future.??
re:eugenr jeep, i am in the UK we never really had muscle cars, even in the 60s and 70s the biggest cars were 3.5..3.3 and 3.0 here except for the Rollers and bentleys and of course jags....the mini cooper was a typical car of the day here....and the modern 1 is packed with tech.
re:brown is it not obvious there would be no mobile phone networks...still its a blueprint and people were no less intelligent then..
re:Michael l, i am aware these items are not state of the art cutting edge tech in 2010, but they are items that are in everyday use by millions throughout the globe are they not...i also understand the microchip was not develeoped, but perhaps top boffins of the day could dis assemble these items and replicate them....?
