Open Question: Estimate on a car paint job?
I have a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, it's painted a vanilla-ish white. I want it painted a sort of semi-gloss black. Like this: http://images21.fotki.com/v517/photos/3/35233/4699913/rdCrownVicPoliceInterceptor055-vi.jpg (I don't own this image) I want to get a 'decent' paint job. I don't want to go to MACCO and get a 0 paint job (I've heard nothing but bad things about them). But I also don't want to go and get a ,000 paint job at a custom body shop. I want there to be: 1) Primer 2) Black 3) Black 4) Clear coat 5) Clear coat Would this be too much? Do I only want/need one (1) clear coat? Should I have more than two coats of black paint? I know (in general) more layers of paint = deeper, more appealing color effects. The most i would want to spend is around ,000 - ,500. Is this price going to cover the things I want done? Any suggestions? Thanks!
